What car will I be learning in?

You'll learn in Simon's dual-controlled manual car. Dual controls mean Simon can intervene safely if needed, giving you the confidence to push your limits without worry.

Does Simon teach automatic lessons?

No — Simon specialises in manual transmission only. Passing in a manual means you can drive both manual and automatic cars. It's the more versatile licence.

How much do lessons with Simon cost?

All lessons are 2 hours. A single lesson is £72. Block packages save you money per hour: 10hrs (£340 · £34/hr), 20hrs (£660 · £33/hr), 40hrs (£1,280 · £32/hr).

2-hour lessons give you enough time to warm up, practise properly, and consolidate what you've learned — without rushing. Short 1-hour lessons often mean you spend half the time just getting back into the swing of things.

How many hours will I need?

The DVSA average is around 45 hours of professional lessons, often combined with private practice. Most learners find the 20-hour block gets them to a solid test-ready standard. Everyone's different though — Simon will give you honest feedback on where you're at.

Can I use Simon's car for my driving test?

Yes — you're welcome to use Simon's car for your practical test. Simon will make sure you're fully comfortable in it well before test day.
